Yesterday we got hit with a good snow. That was fine until the temp dropped. Hubby was not home yet and he didn't quite make it. My car spent the night parked at a friend's home and he had to walk part way home. Today I retrieved my car, with him following along behind me with the Suburban.
This little trip made me think back many year to a trip a friend and I made one Christmas time. We had some shopping to do so we got sitters and off we went. Well we were living in the eastern foothills of the Cascade mountains. Our shopping trip was to Ellensburg. It started to snow. We had not been shopping for just ourselves and some things to drop off up a nice icy hill. Yes, we got stuck. Stuck in another friend's very long icy driveway. Of course this was before cell phones. We had a CB radio. We were finally able to get someone at home to call the friend where we were stuck. The insanity that went on between my friend and I, I won't go into that. I am not into self embarrassment tonight. Needless to say the two of had the time of our lives being stuck in the snow and ice. Wonderful memory!!!
We finally got some shopping done today. It is going to be a light Christmas this year. But I am able to make homemade kitchen towels and dish cloths for the ladies in the family. The men just kinda eat the treats and say "Oh how nice." But the grandchildren!! We have 9 we have to buy for. I don't count the two we are raising as they are "ours". I usually go a little overboard on them. Haven't got that done yet.
We have about 5 to 6 inches of snow now and we are expecting another big storm to hit us Saturday night. The news people are talking high winds and bad cold weather. We can only pray that most of the expected high winds stay up in the foothills. If we get a power outage, there goes finishing up my home made gifts. I am hoping that we are able to hang on to our snow. It has been a long time since we have had a White Christmas. That would be fun.
As I sit here writing it is 21* outside. I am thinking about a hot cup of tea or cocoa. I think I will go do just that. Stay warm..

What no word about the icle that stuck up? And how we wondered if the old man that was mistakenly called, ever figured out that "Wildcat is stuck in your driveway" was about?
